EAST GRANBY, CT — Republicans in the 7th State Senate District have endorsed state Sen. John A. Kissel for another term, according to an announcement from the Enfield Republican Committee.
Kissel, a Republican from Enfield, represents a district that includes East Granby, Enfield, Suffield, Somers, Windsor Locks and parts of Ellington, Granby and Windsor. The endorsement was unanimous, according to the committee.
The committee said Republicans across the district cited Kissel’s accessibility, community involvement and work on local issues as reasons for supporting another term.
Enfield Republican Town Committee Chairwoman Kelly Hemmeler praised Kissel in the announcement, calling him approachable and willing to listen to residents.
“I endorse Senator John Kissel because he is the kind of public servant who is a friendly neighbor,” Hemmeler said. “He is always approachable, always willing to listen, and always happy to help.”
The committee said Kissel’s priorities include education, early childhood and special education, public safety, government accountability, support for seniors and issues affecting working families.
Kissel said serving residents remains an honor.
“Being able to serve my constituents is both a blessing and tremendous honor,” Kissel said in the announcement. “I’m excited to meet as many folks as I can to continue to win their trust and support.”
The endorsement comes as Republicans prepare for the 2026 election cycle in north-central Connecticut.
