'Tiny Living' In Granby

The informational session will cover backyard living spaces, Connecticut ADU rules and possible uses for homeowners.

GRANBY, CT — Granby Public Library will host an informational program next week for residents interested in learning more about accessory dwelling units, commonly known as ADUs.

The program, “All About ADUs,” is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Reading Room at the Main Library Branch, 15 N. Granby Road.

ADUs are self-contained residential living spaces located on the same property as a single-family home. The library said the session is intended for residents who may be considering options such as housing aging parents, creating a private home office or adding living space during a challenging real estate market.

The program will also touch on Connecticut legislation involving ADUs and the broader concept of “tiny living,” according to the library. The Town of Granby Building Department will have information available.

The presenter will be Jason Richetelli of ADU Builders CT, who helps Connecticut homeowners plan, permit and build backyard tiny homes designed for daily living.

Registration is required, and the library said registration will close at 7:30 p.m. on July 14. As of the event listing, 47 seats remained available.

More information and registration are available through the Granby Public Library event page.
