Area Residents Look to Save Pleasant Valley Drive-In

By John Fitts

As the movie industry to prepares to go all digital, area residents have provided a groundswell of support for the Pleasant Valley Drive-In on River Road in Barkhamsted.

The theatre, operated continuously since 1947, is one of several across the country that is facing an uphill battle to raise the $80,000 needed to covert to the digital format.

One way to help is by voting for the theatre in a Honda contest called Project Drive-In. The company is donating five digital projectors and reader votes decide where they will go. Fans of the local theatre can vote for it here

The contest runs through the night of Sept. 9, 2013.

An upcoming Sept. 14 car show will also benefit the Drive-In. See details at https://www.facebook.com/events/319396898207107/
