Arraignment Postponed a Third Time for Granby Substitute

The arraignment for the Granby substitute teacher accused of fourth degree sex assault has been postponed a third time.

The arraignment for a Granby Public School substitute teacher accused of fourth degree sexual assault was continued for a third time on Wednesday.

Robert Klein, 62, of North Granby was arrested by Granby Police on March 27 after a joint investigation involving the state Department of Children and Family Services surrounding an incident at Wells Road Intermediate School on March 1.

The charges against Klein stem from several incidents involving three female students at the school, according to the arrest warrant affidavit on file at Enfield Superior Court. The affidavit also states that Klein has no criminal record.

Superintendent Alan Addley told Patch Klein has been an employee substitute in the school district for several years.

Klein's lawyer, Hartford attorney Hope Seeley has not made any comment on the case.

The arraignment for Klein was originally scheduled for March 28 and was continued to May 18.  Klein is scheduled to appear in court again on July 13.
