Arraignment Postponed Again for Granby Substitute Teacher
The arraignment of Granby substitute teacher Robert Klein has been continued a second time. Klein will appear in Enfield Superior Court on May 18.
The arraignment of Granby Public Schools substitute teacher Robert Klein, who was originally scheduled to appear at Enfield Superior Court on March 28, was continued a second time Wednesday after no plea was entered.
Klein was arrested March 27 after a joint investigation by the Department of Children and Family Services and the Granby Police Department surrounding an incident at Wells Road Intermediate School on March 1.
Klein, 62, has been working as an employee substitute teacher in the district for several years according to Superintendent Alan Addley.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit on file at Enfield Superior Court Klein has no criminal record.
The charges against Klein are based on several incidents involving three female students. Two students said they saw Kline looking down their shirts during a gym class last year, and the other said Klein touched her on the head, chest, lower back or buttocks when he was substituting at Wells Road Intermediate School on March 1.

Klein's case was continued the first time on March 28 so he could seek legal counsel. Klein is now being represented by Hartford Attorney Hope Seeley. Seeley has not been available for comment on the case.
Klein is now scheduled to appear at Enfield Superior Court on May 18.
