GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Here are some recent notable achievements for college students from the Granbys, as reported by readMedia Newswire.

College of Saint Rose, Albany NY

• The College of Saint Rose congratulates Alanna Bergmann of Granby for being named to the Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester. Bergmann is one of 704 students to achieve this mark of academic excellence. To make the Dean's List, Bergmann had to complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Nine business students from Eastern Connecticut State University traveled to Spain this past May to study international business in the European Union. Students stayed in Barcelona and Madrid, and toured businesses and participated in lectures about the history and state of the regional economy. Among the travelers was Nicholas Sharp of Granby, who majors in Business Administration.

Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta GA

• Emily Henselder of Granby made the Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

Roger Williams University, Bristol RI

• Three students from Granby have been named to the spring 2017 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I.: Gina DiCiancia, Amy Lenihan and Haley Rome. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester NH

• It is with great pleasure that Southern New Hampshire University congratulates Samantha Bates of Granby on being named to the spring 2017 President's List. Eligibility for the President's List requires that a student accumulate an academic grade point average (GPA) of 3.7-4.0.

University of Albany, Albany NY

• The University at Albany congratulates more than 3,400 students who were named to the spring 2017 Dean's List, including Paige Derlinga of East Granby and Michael Main of Granby. Students named to the Dean's List earned at least a 3.5 GPA.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln NE

• Brigitte Rathey of Granby has been named to the Deans' List at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the spring semester of the 2016-17 academic year. Rathey, a junior animal science major, was named to the Dean's List for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Amanda O'Connor, of Granby, has been named to the Dean's List at Western New England University for the spring semester 2017. O'Connor is working toward a degree in Sociology. Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.
