GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • More than 1,000 Eastern Connecticut State University students volunteered more than 17,000 hours in the Windham area in the past academic year. On April 19, these students-and the projects and community partners they represent-were honored at the annual Service Expo and Awards, sponsored by Eastern's Center for Community Engagement (CCE). Among the expo presenters was Carly Perron of Granby, who majors in History and Social Science. Perron presented on her projects with the Sweeney Elementary School After School Program and Covenant Soup Kitchen. Perron was also one of two recipients of the Outstanding Student Leader Award.

Elmira College, Elmira NY

  • Samantha Berger of East Granby has been named to the Elmira College Dean's List for the winter 2018 term. Full-time students who achieve a grade point average of 3.600 or higher at the end of any Term I or Term II are placed on the Dean's List at the college.
