GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Here are some recent accomplishments of college students from the Granbys, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

American International College, Springfield MA

  • Vida Tawia of East Granby has been named to the fall 2016 Dean's List at American International College. Dean's List students are full-time students with a grade point average between 3.3 and 4.0.

Assumption College, Worcester MA

  • Assumption College has announced that Jenna Snyder, a member of the Class of 2018 from Granby, is one of 486 students named to the college's prestigious undergraduate Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Assumption students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a five-class, 15-credit semester. The Dean's List is announced twice per academic year, once at the completion of the fall semester, and again at the completion of the spring semester.

Elmira College, Elmira NY

  • Samantha Berger of East Granby has been named to the Elmira College Dean's List for the fall 2016 term. Full-time students who achieve a grade point average of 3.600 or higher at the end of any Term I or Term II are placed on the Dean's List at the college.

Emmanuel College, Boston MA

  • Samantha Martin of East Granby was named to the Emmanuel College Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.

University at Albany, Albany NY

  • The University at Albany congratulates more than 3,500 students who were named to the fall 2016 Dean's List. Students named to the Dean's List earned at least a 3.5 GPA. Local honorees are Paige Derlinga of East Granby and Michael Main of Granby.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

  • The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that 5,401 students have qualified for the fall 2016 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, other states and more than 16 countries. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average. Local students honored are Leke Gorani of East Granby, Laurelyn Rose Keenan of Granby, Megan Kuhnly of Granby, Miriam Nichols of Granby and Kane Vincent Russell of East Granby.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

  • Western New England University's Stageless Players presented their fall production of The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni as adapted by Constance Congdon, an award-winning playwright and Playwright-in-Residence at Amherst College. The Servant of Two Masters is an Italian comedy written in 1746. Amanda R. O'Connor of Granby took part in the production as a member of the running/stage crew. She is a freshman majoring in Sociology, and minoring in Criminal Justice. Amanda has been a part of four productions already; two plays and two musicals. Her favorite musical was Peter Pan, and her favorite play was Arsenic and Old Lace. She was a stage manager for her senior year of high school in which she participated in Where the Wind Blows and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
