East Granby is and remains a safe community of choice for our residents. However, this summer, we have experienced a dramatic increase in car break-ins as have towns throughout the state. These have been crimes of opportunity where car doors have been unlocked or car keys have been left in the ignition. Here's some simple tips and preventative measures that you can take:
- Lock your car
- Remove your valuables
- Take your keys
- If you notice an open car door or glove compartment, call the police
East Granby Police Officers and the State Police are working with surrounding towns to pursue leads and to successfully apprehend the perpetrators while maintaining public safety.
