Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT
- Junior Aidan Hennessy of Granby was recognized by the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) as All-Mideast Region during the outdoor season. Hennessy bested all regional performers in the triple jump (46-9.5), and also had the third-highest decathlon point total (5,546).
Goodwin University, East Hartford CT

- Goodwin University's President's List for the spring 2023 session includes 270 students, all of whom scored a perfect 4.0 GPA. Among them are Brooke Jordan of East Granby and Dana Lowes-Hobson of Granby.
Lasell University, Newton MA
- Ryan Stone, a Lasell University student from Granby, was named to the dean's list for academic performance in the spring 2023 semester. The spring 2023 dean's list includes students who have completed at least 12 credits as a full-time student in that semester and have achieved a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher. Stone also was named to the College Sports Communicators 2022-2023 Academic All-District lacrosse team, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Nominees must maintain a 3.5 GPA and participate in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
- Karissa Gaughan, a Lasell University student from Granby, participated in the institution's annual Connected Learning Symposium in April. Each presentation demonstrates a particular set of core career competencies listed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) as being in high demand in the workforce. Gaughan presented work done by the staff of the 1851 Chronicle, Lasell's student-run newspaper, for which they were the digital sports editor. The presentation incorporated the NACE competencies of professionalism, leadership, and career and self-development. Gaughan also participated in a ceramics presentation: "Wheel Throwing: Clay in Motion."
Nazareth College, Rochester NY

- Melena Kopf of Granby graduated from Nazareth College with a bachelor's degree in theatre arts and a minor in musical theatre and dance during the 96th Commencement ceremony on campus at the Golisano Training Center on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
- Jasmine Ritter of East Granby has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2023 semester. A student's grade point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work that semester in order to be included on the dean's list at Nazareth.
Springfield College, Springfield MA
- Springfield College recognizes the following local students for being named to the Dean's List for academic excellence for the 2023 spring semester. From East Granby: Roberto Baum, Grace Hall, Emily Kelly and Jade Kiang. From Granby: Brianna Cassi, Carter Frith and Jessica Gnesda. The criteria for selection to the Dean's List are as follows: The student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the term, exclusive of "P" grades. The student must not have any incompletes or missing grades in the designated term. The student must have a minimum semester grade average of 3.500 for the term.
The Citadel, Charleston SC
- The South Carolina Corps of Cadets Class of 2023 are now part of the Long Gray Line.
Eric Wilson of East Granby earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from The Citadel. Wilson graduated during the South Carolina Corps of Cadets commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 6.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA
- Caitlin Strzegowski of East Granby, who majored in environmental engineering, was bestowed a bachelor's degree at WPI's 154th Commencement on Saturday, May 13. Nearly 1,100 undergraduate degrees were awarded during the ceremony.
