Creepy Old Guy With Tiny Digital Camera, Pancake Breakfasts
Here are five things going on in the area.
Good morning, Granbys! Today is Saturday, Dec. 10, 2012; there are 21 days left in the year.
Look, let’s clear something up right now. I love this job. It’s been, for the vast majority of the time, a combination of sunshine, candy canes and rainbows as far as how much I enjoy covering Granby and East Granby.
But there is one thing that bothers me more than anything else. I get it. I’m the creepy old guy with the tiny digital camera. Hey, I have to take photos for the job. It’s a requirement and, honestly, I like doing it. But the equipment with which I have to work, while perfectly functional, makes for some awkward moments when I have to say, photograph a gathering where small children are involved. The adults don't look too comfortable, either.
And don’t get me wrong. You should run in the opposite direction when you see a guy like the one in the photo gallery trying to take your picture. True story: after a big win by the Granby Memorial field hockey team, I walked onto the field to get a reaction photo of the players. The girls took one look at me and scattered into the winds faster than you can say “restraining order.” Thing is, how can you blame them? I’m creepy old guy with tiny digital camera. Sigh.
