Distraction Played a Role in Fatal Granby Crash

Kevin Ayers had turned to look at his 14-month-old son, taking his eyes off the road briefly.

Police are saying that just a minute of distraction played a role in a fatal accident on Oct. 9, 2014 in Granby, according to the Hartford Courant.

Kevin Ayers, from East Granby, had briefly turned around to look at his 14-month-old son, Landon, taking his eyes off the road. His vehicle crossed the yellow lines and hit an armored truck coming toward him.

Landon was killed in the Route 20 crash.
