Domestic Dispute Leads to Drug Bust at Motel 6
An East Granby woman and her boyfriend were charged with operating a drug factory in Windsor Locks.

Windsor Locks Police seized nearly 70 bags of heroin and 23 bags of cocaine in a drug bust that began with a domestic dispute at a Motel 6.
Police responded to the motel, located at 3 National Drive, on Oct. 20 after receiving a disturbance call of a man and a woman arguing outside.
Officers located the woman, later identified as Dana Vanderjagt, 23, of East Granby, who acknowledged arguing with her boyfriend from room 237. As she took her cell phone out, a hypodermic needle fell from her pocket, according to police.

Police said the needle was seized and the investigation continued.
Officers went to room 237 to speak with the boyfriend, Jonathan Maldonado, 23, of Hartford.

Officers knocked and after a few moments Maldonado answered the door.
While speaking with Maldonado, officers could see several hypodermic needles on the bed inside the room. Dialogue continued and Maldonado provided written consent to search the room, according to police.
Police said the search revealed suspected cocaine inside the toilet water tank and several other items located throughout room.
Police seized the following: 69 bags of heroin, 23 grams of cocaine, 4 grams of marijuana, crystal-like substance, narcotic packaging materials, drug paraphernalia and drug factory materials.
Maldonado and Vanderjagt were both arrested and charged with two counts of possession of narcotics and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana, sale of narcotics and operating a drug factory.
