Dr. Scott Bissell -The Importance of Orthopedic Health

Orthopedic health issues are not just limited to the aged or pro sports athletes. The very young and overzealous weekend exercise carriers can suffer the pain and injury to joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles and if not properly addressed can become life-long challenges that can increase with age.

Susan Regan visited with Dr. Scott Bissell who specializes in orthopedic sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at CT Orthopedic Associates in Bloomfield, CT. Dr. Bissell provided an informative overview of common ailments that occur to our youth through the redundancy of body activity with a specific school sports program, the risks that occur with normally inactive adults and regular exercise buffs who do not warm up properly before a workout. Lifestyle can play a large role in maintaining a healthy body and preventative measures as well as addressing concerns as early as possible lead to an improved outcome.
