East Granby Drivers Will See 2 Months Of Route 187 Road Work

The work will upgrade existing guiderail systems along a stretch of Route 187 in East Granby through early June.

EAST GRANBY, CT — Drivers in East Granby will soon see daytime lane closures on part of Route 187 as the state begins a guiderail upgrade project expected to last into early June.

According to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the work will run from Monday, April 6, through Monday, June 8, along Route 187 from Route 20 near mile marker 12.48 to mile marker 9.02.

CTDOT said the project will upgrade existing guiderail systems to current standards. Eagle Fence Company is handling the job.

Lane closures are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the project. Traffic control signs and flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone.

State officials said the schedule could change because of weather or other unexpected issues. Drivers are being urged to slow down and use caution in the area.
