East Granby Election Results 2016: The Winners are Revealed

EAST GRANBY, CT — Registered voters in East Granby had an early start to the polls on Nov. 8 for the 2016 election, and the momentum continued until the balloting closed at 8 p.m.

Here are the unofficial results of how East Granby voted, posted by the secretary of the state:

U.S. President

• (D) Clinton and Kaine - 1,389 - 47.08 percent
• (R) Trump and Pence - 1,371 - 46.47 percent
• (L) Johnson and Weld - 149 - 5.05 percent
• (G) Stein and Baraka - 36 - 1.22 percent

U.S. Senate

• (D) Richard Blumenthal - 1,506 - 51.91 percent
• (R) Dan Carter - 1,189 - 40.99 percent
• (WF) Blumenthal - 134 - 4.62 percent
• (L) Richard Lion - 39 - 1.34 percent
• (G) Jeffery Russell - 33 - 1.14 percent

U.S. Rep District 1

• (D) John B. Larson - 1,409 - 49.39 percent
• (R) Matthew Corey - 1,261 - 44.20 percent
• (WF) Larson - 127 - 4.45 percent
• (G) S. Michael DeRosa - 56 - 1.96 percent

State Senate District 7

• (R) John A. Kissel - 1,539 - 53.77 percent
• (D) Annie Hornish - 1,147 - 40.08 percent
• (WF) Hornish - 96 - 3.35 percent
• (I) Kissel - 80 - 2.80 percent

State Rep District 61

• (R) Tami Zawistowski - 1,633 - 56.49 percent
• (D) Michael S. Malloy - 1,164 - 40.26 percent
• (I) Zawistowski - 94 - 3.25 percent

Registrar of Voters

• (R) Carol Carrara - 1,516 - 55.37 percent
• (D) Judith Geldhauser - 1,222 - 44.63 percent

EAST GRANBY, CT — East Granby residents headed to the polls Tuesday for the 2016 midterm election. Polling places in East Granby are now closed.

In East Granby, the choice for 7th Senatorial District involves Republican incumbent John Kissel and Democratic challenger Annie Hornish. Kissel is a 12-term incumbent and a Chief Deputy Minority Leader. Hornish served as a State Representative from 2009–2011.

In the 61st State House District, the Republican incumbent is Tami Zawistowski and the Democratic challenger is Michael Malloy. Zawistowski is completing her first full term after being originally elected to fill the seat of the late Elaine O'Brien in 2014. Malloy has served as East Granby Democratic Town Chairman since 2008.

Candidates for registrar of voters are Democrat Judith Geldhauser and Republican Carol Carrara.

The candidates for president and vice president are Republicans Donald Trump and Mike Pence, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, Libertarians Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, and Green Party Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.

For United States Senate, the candidates are Democratic incumbent Richard Blumenthal, Republican Dan Carter, Libertarian Richard Lion and Green Party Jeffery Russell.

For United States Congress, the choice is between Democratic incumbent John Larson, Republican Matthew Corey and Green Party candidate S. Michael DeRosa.
