East Granby Farmers Market Seeking Vendors, Entertainers

Market will open on June 20.

The following is a press release from the East Granby Farmers Market Committee

The East Granby Farmers Market Committee is very pleased to announce that the market will be starting its second season on Wednesday, June 20. The market will run again on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Center Shops, corner of Routes 20 and 187. The June opening date is two weeks earlier than last year, and weather willing, should be just in time for strawberry season. The 2012 Market’s last day is September 26.

In addition to fresh Connecticut grown produce and a myriad of other locally grown and made products, the East Granby Farmers Market features weekly entertainment and has become a regular meeting place for residents of East Granby and surrounding towns. Proceeds from vendor fees directly benefit the East Granby Public Library.

If you’d like to keep up with Market events, check the new website at www.egfarmersmarket.com. You can also find us on Facebook (just search East Granby Farmers Market). If you’re interested in becoming a vendor, all the necessary forms are available on the website, or email eastgranbyfarmersmarket@gmail.com. You can also call Market Manager Lisa Salazar at the East Granby Public Library at 860-653-3002.

The Market will also continue with weekly entertainment, and this year, we’ve received a commitment from Northwest Community Bank to fund an entertainment tent with a portable sound system. If you’re interested in participating in the Market as an entertainer, please contact Marie Sandora at msandora@hotmail.com or call 860-844-8393.

The Committee is also actively seeking business sponsors to help underwrite the Market’s advertising and marketing budget.  If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a business sponsor, please contact Tami Zawistowski at 860-658-1191 or tami.z@resourcebooks.net.
