East Granby Grand List Increase

The Grand List increased .94% or $5.5 million over the previous year

On January 29th, the East Granby Town Assessor, Mary Ellen Brown submitted the October 1, 2015 Grand List to the State Office of Policy and Management along with the local Boards of Selectmen and Finance. The Grand List is the total of all taxable property in East Granby and is comprised of Real Estate, Personal Property (businesses) and Motor Vehicles. The Grand List growth will be taken into consideration by the Board of Finance as it develops the FY16-17 operating budget with the Boards of Selectmen and Education. The budget will be brought to Town Meeting and potentially Referendum for town consideration in April and May of this year. The Grand List for Real Estate increased .029% or $1.4 million, Personal Property increased 3.7% or $2.8 million and Motor Vehicles increased 2.4% $1.39 million. First Selectman James Hayden said that overall, the Grand List increased from $581,485,097 to $586,967,397, for a total increase of almost $5.5 million or .94%.
