East Granby High School Senior Earns Full Ride to Auburn

She signed her NCAA contract at a ceremony Wednesday.

EAST GRANBY, CT — McKayla Langmeier, 17, a senior at East Granby High School, signed her NCAA contract with SEC Division 1 Auburn University, which includes a full scholarship with their equestrian team, at a ceremony Wednesday.

The daughter of Kenny and Linda Langmeier has several noteworthy accomplishments at both the national and international level in equitation, jumper and hunter events. In just the past few months, she won the Platinum Performance USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals East, as well as two Under 25 Grand Prixes, including the 1st Canadian Utilities Grand Prix and the Pennsylvania National U25 Grand Prix.

Earlier in the year, she was honored with the top placing in George Morris Excellence in Equitation Championship at the Winter Equestrian Festival.

In 2016, Langmeier won the 1st West Canadian Cup at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada – this time competing against a field of international riders (including several Olympians).
