East Granby Mourns Loss Of Beloved Town Staffer
The woman was remembered for her creativity, care for children, and work on a major community project.
EAST GRANBY, CT — East Granby Parks and Recreation and Youth Services is mourning Program Coordinator Becky Hayes, who was remembered for her creativity, care for young people and lasting impact on the community.
Hayes, 45, died Aug. 13, according to her obituary.
In an announcement, the department said Hayes brought energy, organization and genuine care to the programs she helped lead, particularly those serving children and preschool-age participants.

Hayes was also praised for her work on the East Granby Farms Playscape. Department officials said she poured her heart into the project and helped turn it into a reality for local families.
“Becky was one of a kind,” the department said, recalling her creativity, sense of fun and commitment to the people around her.

The town’s Parks and Recreation Department page lists Hayes as a program coordinator. Officials said her impact will live on through the programs, memories and experiences she created for residents.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Ave. in Windsor, according to her obituary.
