In her 80th year, Barbara Jean Gleason Walker, of the Granbys, joined the Angels, that she so loved. She was surrounded by her family for her peaceful transition.
Proud to have been born and raised in Vermont, she grew into a loving, elegant woman that helped those in need with grace and compassion. Her sense of humor was truly priceless. The many interests of her life included: gourmet cooking and entertaining, playing scrabble, golfing, bowling, listening to music, dancing, writing letters and fun poems, classic movies, reading, gardening and tastefully decorating her home.
All of these interests were secondary to the pride and joy of her life, her family. She is survived by her best friend of 62 years, her husband John, and her children: Candace Walker Maylott & her husband, Dean, Jeffrey Walker & his wife, Karen, Pamela Walker Willis & her husband, Mitchell, Jennifer Walker & her partner, Raegan Bishop, James Walker & his fiancé, Regina Dumas, Carol Walker & her partner, Desmond Keefe; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
