
Corey Andre Dawson, 24, of Windsor, beloved son of Colleen Deacon and father of CJ and Zion, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 in Waterbury.
Born in New York, NY on December 3, 1991, he moved from Queens, NY to Kingston, Jamaica with his mother when he was one and returned to the US when he was three living in East Granby and Spring, TX before moving to Windsor in 1998. Corey attended Windsor Public Schools and graduated from Windsor High School with the Class of 2009. Corey loved music and football and he played for the Windsor High School Varsity team from 2006-2009.
He was passionate about cars and loved his Honda Civic SI. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending car shows and looked forward each year to Honda Day in New Jersey. Corey was meticulous in everything that he did. He loved his clothes and his sneakers and was always neatly dressed. Most of all, he will be remembered as a family man who was very caring and open, and who loved to have a good time.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, Colleen Deacon of Windsor; his two sons whom he adored, Corey Andre Dawson, Jr. and Zion Michael Dawson both of Manchester; the mother of his children, Mikeisha Hamm of Manchester; his sister, Krysten Dawson of Manchester; three maternal aunts, Lilieth Deacon, Merle Deacon-Simpson and her husband Oswald, and Glossom Deacon-Hardy all of Jamaica; a paternal uncle, Larry Dawson of Queens, NY; a maternal cousin, Dominique Wong and her husband Norman of Boca Raton, FL; a special cousin, Drucilla Doyle of Jamaica; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends in United States and Jamaica.
His family will receive friends on Sunday, April 24, 3-5 p.m., followed by a Homegoing Service at 5 p.m., in the chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor.
