East Granby Obituary: Holly-Sue Davis, 69

Condolences to her family and friends.

Holly-Sue (Griffin) Davis, 69, of East Granby, passed away at a local nursing home after a long illness on Thursday, January 14, 2016.

Born on December 13, 1946, daughter of the late B. Beman and Elizabeth L. Griffin, Holly lived most of her life in East Granby and was a part of the 1964 first graduating class of East Granby High School. She was a member of the Hartford County 4-H Fair Association, the Granby Grange, and she was a parishioner of the Copper Hill United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and served faithfully on many boards and committees. Holly owned Hickory Meadow Home Daycare in East Granby where she cared for many children in the community over the years.

Holly is survived by her three children, Aaron B. Davis and his wife Stephanie of Norwich, Heidi E. Davis of Chicopee, MA, and Jeanna Newmerzyckyj and her husband Wolodymyr “Woody” of Dudley, MA; her five grandchildren, Ashley Davis-Morassi of Springfield, MA, Bre Davis of New London, Dylan Davis of Front Royal, VA, William Beauchene of Dudley, MA, Liam Davis of New London; a great grandson, Maximus Roldan; as well as her brothers, W. Thom Griffin and his wife Barbara of Colrain, MA and B. Harrison Griffin and his wife Carol of West Suffield; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Carol T. Rudzik.

The family would like to extend its sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at Kimberly Hall for the loving care they showed to Holly and to Masonicare Partners Hospice for their compassionate support.

Friends are invited to join the family for a memorial service on Sunday, January 24, 2 p.m., at the Copper Hill United Methodist Church, 27 Copper Hill Rd., East Granby.
