East Granby Obituary: John Butler, 96

Condolences to his family and friends.

John F. Butler, 96, of East Granby, beloved husband of Frances (Slipski) Butler passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016.

Born December 8, 1919 in Windsor, son of the late John and Lina (Peritti) Butler he grew up in the Rainbow section of Windsor and has lived in East Granby for the past 70 years. John was a proud veteran, serving with the US Army during WWII. Before retiring he was a machinist for Separators/Blowers.

Beside his wife Frances, he is survived by a son, John F. Butler, Jr. of Windsor Locks; a daughter, Linda Smith and her husband Lee of Suffield; an adopted daughter, Delores Lindquist; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Kevin, Tammie, Shaun and Kelly; ten great grandchildren, Austin, Robbie, Michaela, Dakota, Carlton, Lincoln, Elliot, McKinley, Simone and Brian; and one great-great grandchild, Bradley. He was predeceased by three sisters.

A graveside service with military honors will be Wednesday, May 18, 2016, 11:00 AM in Elmwood Cemetery, East Granby.
