East Granby Obituary: L. Alger Pelletier, 90

Condolences to his family and friends.

L. Alger "Al" Pelletier, 90, of East Granby, beloved husband of 63 years to Mary (Doyle) Pelletier passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016.

Al was born March 25, 1926 in St. Francis, ME, son of the late Trefflie and Odile (Daigle) Pelletier. He served in the US Navy during WWII from 1944-1946. Upon his discharge he went to school in Lewiston, ME and in 1951 came to Hartford where he was employed by the A & P Food Stores. After 27 years with A & P he became a property manager for Metacomet Homes in East Granby.

Al's hobbies consisted of working on his home especially his yard. Al was a quiet simple man who worked hard to provide for his family.

Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by his children, Stephen Pelletier of Hartford, Denise Chamberlain and her husband, Scott of Granby, Kathleen Pelletier and her husband, Robert Winot of Broad Brook, David Pelletier and his wife, Suzanne of Wilsons, VA, Thomas Pelletier of Simsbury; his grandchildren, Kelly Horan and her husband, Shayne Reed of Newington, David Horan and his partner, Maria Dolce of Berlin, 1st Lt. Matthew Winot of Las Vegas, NV, Jeffrey Winot of Broad Brook; his sisters, Rinette Parece and Jeannine Anderson; a sister-in-law Norma Pelletier all of FL; a brother, Claude Pelletier and his wife, Muriel of NH. He was predeceased by a brother, Dudley Pelletier.

His family will receive friends Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 5, 2016, 10:00 AM at St, Bernard Church, 7 Maple St., Tariffville. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
