
Raymond K. Morin, Sr., 80, of South Windsor, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 4, 2016 with his family at his side after a long battle with cancer.
He was born at home in New Bedford, MA on November 7, 1935, the son of the late Ovila and Olga (Madeiros) Morin. He grew up in New Bedford, MA, and his life was one of hard work. Ray enjoyed his time with his grandmother, Anna Madeiros and his aunts. On July 5, 1957, he married Lois Josephine Hutchinson of Fall River, MA, from whom he divorced in 1974. He wished to thank her for his children.
He lived most of his life in Hartford and he worked in the engineering department at Hartford Hospital as a grounds keeper for over 50 years. He spread joy through his landscaping to all those who were ill. After retirement, Ray lived in West Hartford, North Windham, Hartford, East Granby and then South Windsor. He was a member of the East Granby Lions Club, the Granby Grange and the East Hartford Elks Club.

He is survived by his companion for the last two years, Nancy Adrulot of South Windsor; his six children, Raymond Morin, Jr., of CT and his daughter; David G. Morin of Hartford and his partner Joan A. Corbin of West Hartford, and daughters, Heather A. Morin and partner Georges L. Lys and their daughter, Maya Ann Lys of Cromwell, and Jaimie L. Morin of West Hartford; Frederick Morin of USA; RoseAnna Lois Smith and her husband Charle of East Granby and their children, Timothy I. Bingham and his wife Courtney and their daughter, Tara Rayne Bingham, Scott E. Bingham and his fiancée Amanda Violette and their daughter Olivia Violette; Kellie Gallagher and her husband Randolph and their family; Karla Andrulot and her husband David, and her son; Kyle Smith and his wife Vera and their family, Keri Reinhardt and her husband Gerald and their daughter ; Jannette Morin of Tolland; and Vivian Wilson of New Britain and her fiancé Peter Bombard and her children, Melinda M. Wilson and her fiancé Doug Tripp of Newington, and Samantha S. Wilson of New Britain; three sisters, Annette Morin of RI, Marlene Fish and Vivian Frank both of MA; a brother, Ronald Morin and his wife Sharyn of Oxford, MA; a half-brother, Adrian Morin of West Hartford. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth R. Morin and Paul Morin, and two grandchildren.
His family would like to thank the Hartford Healthcare Home Hospice Team and the Home Helpers, Inc., for the wonderful care that they provided.

His family will receive friends for calling hours on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. directly at St. Anne – Immaculate Conception Church, 820 Park Street, Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
