East Granby Police Log April 26 - May 23
Among the charges: risk of injury to a minor, breach of peace.

Tyler Maia, 18, of Southington, was charged on May 23 with second-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor, according to the Associated Press. The charges are in connection to Maia’s 4-month-old son suffering two broken ribs in March.
Maia was living in East Granby at the time of the alleged incident, which, Maia told police took place when he shifted the infant violently while feeding him, causing the injuries, according to the Associated Press. After he was admitted to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, the boy was placed in the custody of the Department of Children and Families, which contacted state police, according to the Hartford Courant.
Maia was released on $25,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Enfield on June 13, according to the Courant.
Barbara Smalley, 44, of 16 Seymour Road, Apt. 21C, was charged on May 16 with breach of peace: non-assaultive and non-threatening. She was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.
According to a press release from the state police, a parking attendant inside the office at was the victim of an armed robbery on May 12. The press release said that the attendant had been robbed by “an unknown black male” with “what [the attendant] believed was a gun.” The alleged perpetrator made off with about $500, according to the release. The investigation is still ongoing.
