East Granby resident Jeremy Ribadeneyra is among the newest class of State Police troopers.

The 124th Training Troop started training in June and has since completed about 1,400 hours of training. For applicants it has been a year in the making since they first applied to take the test. A total of 58 troopers graduated Thursday.

The class comes from diverse backgrounds including military experience, firefighters, correctional officers, judicial marshals and other professions; 30 have bachelor degrees, three have graduate degrees and eight have prior law enforcement experience. The youngest member of the class is 23 and the oldest is 42.

New troopers have been assigned to the state’s various troop. Each troop is getting at least four new troopers.
