East Granby's Rossetti Promoted to Police Sergeant

Andrew Rossetti started in East Granby in 1986.

After 25 years of service with the East Granby Police Department, Andrew Rossetti was promoted to the rank of sergeant in a ceremony at Wednesday.

“I love the town; I can’t say enough about it,” Rossetti said after the ceremony, which was attended by members of Rossetti’s family, Connecticut state troopers, East Granby police officers and town officials.

East Granby resident trooper Jeremy Powell and trooper Josh Holcombe, Rossetti’s son-in-law, provided introductory comments, stating that Rossetti is a dedicated police officer and a loving family man.

Hayden provided a timeline of the different world that we lived in 1986, the year that Rossetti joined the East Granby police department.

Twenty-five years ago, Hayden said, Top Gun was the No. 1 movie at the box office, a car could be purchased fully loaded for $9,200 and gasoline was 89 cents a gallon, among other things.

The one constant between then and now, Hayden said, is the quality police officer and person that Rossetti has been.
