East Granby Seeks Back-to-school Aid

While current school year winds down, East Granby Social Services seeks donations for back-to-school program for next school year.

EAST GRANBY, CT — School may be just about ready to break for the summer, but the local social services department is already looking ahead to next school year and how it can help out those in need.

The East Granby Social Services Department announced it is collecting gift cards to Target and Walmart this summer for the town's annual back-to-school program.

It is designed to help income-eligible families that could use some fiscal help addressing the costly prospects of the new school year, whether its new clothes, shoes or supplies.

With a little help, some income-challenged families will not have to sweat it out when school starts in September, according to East Granby Social Services.
