Eversource to Survey Transmission Lines in the Granbys

Helicopters will be checking vegetation growth in more than a hundred Connecticut towns over the next 10 days.

GRANBY, CT - As part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the power grid and increase reliability, Eversource will be surveying vegetation growing near its high voltage transmission lines in 103 Connecticut communities, including Granby and East Granby.

The work involves using two helicopters to cover more than 800 miles of transmission rights-of-way in Connecticut. The helicopters assigned to this project are blue and gray with a registration number N1431W, and blue and white with a registration number N411DD.

The surveying will take place from March 30 to April 8 (no flights are scheduled for Saturday or Sunday, April 2 and 3). All flights are weather permitting, and will take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
