Fall Practice Begins: GMHS, EGHS Team Title Histories, 2022 Schedules

A look at the fall state title histories for Granby Memorial and East Granby high school teams, plus the 2022 fall game schedules.

GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Classes have resumed at many high schools across Connecticut, and practice has begun for fall sports, with numerous teams setting out on their quests for league and state championships.

Among schools in Patch communities in Hartford and Tolland counties, Glastonbury is the all-time leader with 40 fall team championships, followed by Farmington (36), Granby Memorial (36), E.O. Smith (30) and Manchester (29).

Area schools looking to repeat their 2021 state titles are Hall boys cross country (Class LL) and girls golf (Div. I), Avon boys cross country (MM), Glastonbury girls cross country (LL), Somers girls cross country (S), Farmington boys soccer (LL), Wethersfield boys soccer (L) and RHAM girls volleyball (L).

Granby's 36 fall state titles date back to 1973, while East Granby won its lone fall team crown in 1970.
