Farmington Valley VNA - At Home In Your Community

After 30 years of renting the building at 248 Salmon Brook Street from the town of Granby, the Farmington Valley VNA now has a permanent home.

The community's overwhelming response to its $350,000 "Keep Us at Home" capital campaign allowed the Farmington Valley VNA to purchase and renovate the building that houses its Community Programs Department. This office is responsible for the creation and promotion of illness prevention programs and health and wellness initiatives, oversees the Granby Food Bank Program for qualified Granby and Hartland residents, and manages the School Nursing Program for the Granby Board of Education.

The Farmington Valley VNA is a Medicare certified, state licensed home health agency that has been providing home care, palliative care, Hospice services, and illness prevention programs across the Greater Farmington Valley region since 1908. The agency earned a "2012 HomeCare Elite" designation as one of the top home health agencies in the United States. During the fiscal year that ended on June 30, the Community Programs Department conducted 3,867 free blood pressure screenings, administered 2,648 flu and pneumonia shots, received 1,301 visits to wellness walking programs, provided 215 health and wellness screenings, hosted 75 educational programs, and distributed 2,123 bags of groceries through the Granby Food Bank Program.

The community is invited to tour the newly renovated building at 248 Salmon Brook Street in Granby and personally see how their donations have secured the long-term future of these vital programs and services. Open House hours will be held Monday, September 23 from 1:00-4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 25 from 4:00-7:00 p.m., and Friday, September 27 from 8:00-11:00 a.m.
