Home School Day at The Children's Museum

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, at .
Why Go: The day includes special workshops and planetarium shows, opportunities to explore the museum’s many hands-on science and nature-related exhibits, and the chance for parents and kids to network with other home-school families. The workshops, classes and shows are appropriate for children ages five to 13.
Pricing:$7 per student per workshop. Adult members or reciprocal members free, non members $7 per person including non participating children aged 2 and up.

Showtime At The East Granby Public Library

When/Where:  1:30 p.m. on Wednesday March 9 at The East Granby Public Library at 24 Center St., East Granby.
Why Go:  This week's movie is 'Morning Glory' starring Rachel McAdams a a plucky TV producer, is a romantic comedy that plays to the dumbing down of network news. Come and enjoy the movie on a large screened TV with surround sound, the movie is free and so is the popcorn.

Meet Curious George

When/Where: 5 p.m. t0 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at the Rainforest Cafe at Westfarms mall, 1500 New Britain Ave., West Hartford.
Why Go: Families are invited to bring the kids to meet Curious George on his nationwide tour of Rainforest Cafes.

Hartford Children's Theatre Presents 'Class Clown'

When/Where: 7 p.m. on Friday, March 11, Saturday, March 12, Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19, at the Carriage House Theatre, 360 Farmington Ave, Hartford.
Why Go: Hartford Children’s Theatre presents the world-premiere of "Class Clown," a new play by award-winning children’s book author Johanna Hurwitz. A “Milk & Cookies” reception with the play's author will be held after the Opening Night performance on March 11.

Queen Esther's Tea

When/Where:  from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday March 13 at Sycamore Hills Park Senior Center at 635 W. Avon Rd., Avon.
Why Go:  A pre-Purim celebration sponsored by Chai: The Center for Jewish Life and the Emanuel Synagogue of West Hartford. Come in costume and be ready for crafts, food, fun and a Purim musical.The party will take place in the Community Room of the Senior Center. Please park at the West Entrance.
Pricing: $8 per family in advance; $12 at the door
