Granby Boys Open Basketball Tournament at Home

GRANBY, CT — Brackets for the CIAC boys basketball tournaments were released Wednesday morning, and Granby Memorial High School will be opening competition in front of its home crowd.

The Bears (13-7) are the No. 12 seed in Division IV, and will host NCCC rival and No. 21 seed Ellington (10-10) in a first-round game March 6 at 7 p.m.

Other first-round matchups in Division IV for teams from Patch towns in Hartford and Tolland counties include:

• No. 27 Kaynor Tech (8-12) at No. 6 SMSA (15-5)
• No. 26 Rocky Hill (8-12) at No.7 Plainfield (15-5)
• No. 24 Jonathan Law (9-11) at No. 9 Classical Magnet (14-6)
• No. 22 Foran (10-10) at No. 11 Rockville (13-7)
