Granby Chamber Sponsors Business Education Series

Credit, debt collection and business owner do's & don'ts.

Granby Chamber of Commerce members got a chance to broaden their knowledge of the legally precarious world of credit and collections Wednesday afternoon at the chamber's sponsored Fall Education Series luncheon at the Edward Jones office in the center.

Ten people from the Granby business community gathered to get a legal perspective on business credit issues and debt collection.

Margaret Fogerty Rattigan, an attorney with Murphy, Laudati, Kiel, Buttler & Rattigan, LLC in Farmington, presented information and answered questions about some of the finer points of credit and collections.

The Granby chamber has hosted its education series for two years now and plans to continue to offer these events.   "It's about adding value to chamber members," said James Hammel a member of the Granby chamber's Board of Directors and a financial adviser for Edward Jones, the host of the luncheon.

The Granby chamber sponsors six of these events each year, three in the spring and three in the fall.  To find out about future events, check the Granby Chamber of Commerce website at www.granbycoc.org.
