Granby Democratic Town Committee Scholarship 2017
Submissions for theGranby Democratic Town Committee Scholarship are due May 12th 2017

The Granby Democratic Town Committee (DTC) has this year established a $1,000 scholarship to recognize a Granby student who best exemplifies our mission, Making Granby a Better Community, and who has demonstrated engagement in the political process.
As a part of the scholarship application, students are asked to prepare an essay or multimedia presentation on the following topic:
The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States reads: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. How do you think this right affects you as a citizen of Granby on a daily basis and what is its importance to us as Granby citizens striving to make Granby a better community given the current political climate?
To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be a Granby resident, graduating from Granby Memorial High School in 2017, and registered to vote if age 17 or older. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student at GMHS Senior Awards night.
