Granby, East Granby Firefighters Quell Blaze on Holcomb Street
Two tankers and several engines responded to the fire at the house at 192 Holcomb St. in East Granby on Tuesday.
Firefighters from the and the in Granby responded to a house fire on Holcomb Street in East Granby Tuesday evening.
East Granby volunteer firefighters returned to the scene at 192 Holcomb St. to further douse the property’s burned-out shed, which is adjacent to the house that also caught fire around 7 p.m. yesterday.
The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
Resident Ryan Williams was the only person home at the time of the fire and was not injured; he praised the efforts of the firefighters.
“They were here in no time,” said Williams, who added that he also successfully vacated his pets - a dog and a couple of cats.
A member of the East Granby Volunteer Fire Department said that two tankers - one from East Granby, one from Lost Acres - responded to the call, along with engines from both East Granby and Lost Acres.
