GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — It's hard to fathom, but less than three weeks remain before the opening of the new school year in East Granby, and less than four weeks before classes start in Granby.

Here are six important dates to note on the 2016-17 Granby Public Schools calendar:

• Aug. 25, 2016 - first practice day for fall sports
• Sept. 6, 2016 - first day of classes for students
• Dec. 26, 2016 through Jan. 2, 2017 - winter break
• Feb. 20-21, 2017 - Presidents Day weekend
• Apr. 10-14, 2017 - April break
• June 13, 2017 - last scheduled day of classes
