Granby Education Foundation Gets $2,500 Grant from GoodWorks Insurance
GoodWorks Insurance recently gave a $2,500 GoodWorks Community Grant to the Granby Education Foundation (GEF).

GoodWorks Insurance recently gave a $2,500 GoodWorks Community Grant to the Granby Education Foundation (GEF). Based in Glastonbury, GoodWorks Insurance is a regional independent insurance agency with other Connecticut offices in New Milford, Avon and Columbia
“The people at GoodWorks Insurance are truly committed to Granby and to furthering the vital mission of our foundation,” said Kristina Gilton, Chair of the GEF’s annual Gran-Bee.
Since its founding in 2000, GEF has raised more than $700,000 in cash and pledges in support of education. In addition to building the Salmon Brook Ecology Center, creating an Arts Endowment, and funding both the Global Learning Academy and the Summer Drama Academy, the GEF awards several community grants each year.

Uniquely, GoodWorks Insurance gives 50 percent of its operating profits to local charities. GoodWorks Community Grants go to nonprofits that support education, healthcare, public safety and community development.
“Our grants are made possible by the families and businesses in the Granby area who purchase their insurance from us,” said Curt Johnson, senior vice president at GoodWorks Insurance and a West Granby resident. “Thanks to our customers, we can reinvest more in communities like Granby every year.”

The Granby Education Foundation is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that operates separately from the Granby school system. Its mission is to enhance educational opportunities for all of Granby's citizens by funding educational and community initiatives of merit.
