Granby High School Evacuated
Granby High School and Middle School will reopen Friday morning after students from both schools were dismissed early Thursday when a bomb threat was reported at the high school.
The Granby Police Department is investigating a bomb threat that was reported at Granby Memorial High School at 9:44 a.m. Thursday, according to a joint press release from Granby Police Chief David Watkins and Granby Superintendent of Schools Alan Addley.
High School students were evacuated to the cafeteria of Granby Memorial Middle School on the same campus. Students from both schools were dismissed just before noon according to district policies regarding student safety.
The school district posted an announcement on the district's website alerting parents to the situation shortly after the evacuation took place.

"We fully anticipate that the high school will be open tomorrow but will update parents later this evening," the notice said.
The Hartford Bomb Squad and Connecticut State Police responded to the school and found nothing suspicious after conducting a search, according to police.

Both schools will reopen on Friday but Granby Police will be present at the school to assist administrators.
