Granby Honors Retired Police Sergeant

Granby marked the retirement of former Sgt. Doreen Mikan with formal recognitions at Monday's meeting.

GRANBY, CT — A longtime member of the Granby Police Department was recognized this week for more than three decades of service to the community.

At Monday’s Board of Selectmen meeting, First Selectman Mark Fiorentino issued a proclamation honoring former Granby Police Department Sgt. Doreen Mikan for her 33-year career with the department.

According to the Town of Granby, Mikan was recognized for serving residents with “unmatched dedication, valor and professionalism” over the course of her career.

State Rep. Mark Anderson also presented a proclamation on behalf of the Connecticut Legislature in recognition of Mikan’s service.

Town officials said they wish Mikan a fulfilling retirement and thanked her for her many years of service to Granby.
