Granby Nursing Home Fined for Lapses in Care
The facility was one of five in Connecticut fined at least $1,000 for substandard care.

A Granby nursing home has been fined in connection with a pair of incidents involving unprofessional conduct and substandard care, according to a report from the Connecticut Health I-Team (C-HIT).
Meadowbrook of Granby, at 350 Salmon Brook Street, was fined a total of $2,950 by the Connecticut Department of Public Health, C-HIT said.
In one instance, a now-terminated nurse’s aide physically restrained and spoke inappropriately to a resident. In the other case, a resident sustained low fluid intake for a number of days, and insufficient notes were made on the patient’s chart.
Meadowbrook was one of five nursing homes to be cited for recent violations by the DPH. The others are in Cheshire, Cromwell, Mystic and Portland.
