Granby Obituary: Aldo Morelli, Jr., 72

Condolences to his family and friends.

Aldo S. Morelli, Jr., of West Granby, beloved husband of Karen (Ling) Morelli passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Meadow Brook of Granby after a long illness.

He was born July 14, 1943 in Hartford son of the late Aldo S. Morelli, Sr. and Dora (Gherlone) Morelli. He grew up in Avon before getting married and moving to West Granby where he built their home over 40 years ago. Aldo graduated from A.I. Prince Technical School where he learned the craft of carpentry, he and his wife ran their own business for 40 years. During that time he became a licensed realtor in the States of Connecticut and Vermont. He loved the outdoors; he was an avid deer and turkey hunter and fisherman. He became a NY licensed hunting guide and was a team member for Quaker Boy Calls in Buffalo, NY. He was also a turkey calling champion. He and his family vacationed at North Truro, Cape Cod, MA for almost 50 years, and made lifelong friends.

Besides his wife Karen, he is survived by a son, Aldo S. Morelli, III and his partner Debbie Evans; a daughter, Jennifer H. Moylan; a granddaughter Rebecca H. Moylan; a sister, Shirley Whitten and two sisters-in-law, Elaine H. Ling and Barbara L. Wallach. He was predeceased by a sister, Janet DeFranzo.

His family would like to thank all the staff at Meadow Brook of Granby for the excellent and compassionate care given to Aldo.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
