
Daniel R. Gilbert, 62, of West Granby, beloved husband of Rhonda (Bevilacqua) Gilbert, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016.
Born in Lewiston, ME, son of the late Ovila and Lorraine (Gaudette ) Gilbert, he was raised in Granby and graduated from the Suffield High School VOAG program in 1972. He traveled the world in his career in electronic technology with Combustion Engineering, now ABB, Westinghouse, and most recently with KAHN Industries.
Daniel loved the outdoors; boating, fishing, hiking, and off roading in his jeep and spending time with his German Shepherd, Buddy, his constant companion.

Besides his wife and high school sweetheart of 43 years, Rhonda; he leaves two sons Jason Gilbert and his wife Stacey of Birmingham, AL and John Gilbert of White River Junction, VT; his daughter Stefanie Sanchez and her husband Alex of Southwick, MA; his brother James Gilbert and his wife Denise of Barkhamsted; a sister Patricia Greifzu and her husband Roland of NC, and four cherished grandchildren Hayley and Brady Gilbert and Gabriella and Samantha Sanchez. Dan also leaves to mourn his loss and remember fond memories of him, his father-in-law Frank Bevilacqua and his wife Marjorie as well as his sisters and brothers-in-law, and his many nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends Wednesday, November 9, 2016, from 5-8 pm at the Hayes Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 10, 2016, 10 am directly at St. Therese Church, 120 West Granby Road, Granby. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
