Granby Obituary: Faye Coiro, 71

Condolences to her family and friends.

Faye Ella (Flynn) Coiro, 71, of East Hartland, beloved wife for 45 years of Francis Peter Coiro, III, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Bristol on June 30, 1945, daughter of the late Patrick and Bessie (Culberson) Flynn, she was raised in Bristol and had lived in East Hartland since 1977. After staying home to raise her son, Patrick, Faye took a position in the Granby Public Schools and more recently had worked at the Connecticut Fire Academy in Windsor Locks for the last several years. Faye will be remembered most as a loving and devoted, wife, mother, and grandmother.

Besides her husband Francis, she leaves a son, Patrick Francis Coiro and his wife Kathy Ann of Smyrna Mills, ME; a sister, Anna Saling of Port St. Lucie, FL; three grandchildren, Joseph, Brandon, and Samantha; and a brother-in-law, John Coiro and his husband Philip Payor of West Hartford. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Donohue.

Her family will receive friends on Monday, September 5, 3-6 p.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, September 6, 10 a.m., at St. Therese Church, 120 West Granby Rd., Granby. Burial will be private in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.

Faye's family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the St. Francis Foundation, Attn: Cancer Center, 95 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105.
