Granby Obituary: Gerald Greene, 82

Condolences to his family and friends.

Gerald Greene, 82, formerly of Granby, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2016, at the Abramson Center for Jewish Life in North Wales, Pennsylvania.

Born on January 21, 1934 in New Haven, son of the late Jack and Rose Greene, Gerry was a Connecticut resident for 80 years, 23 of which were spent in Granby. Gerry relocated to Pennsylvania in 2014 to be closer to his daughter following the death of his late wife, Lorna Greene.

Gerry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Wyeth-Ayerst (now Pfizer) for more than 30 years. He was a life-long fan of the New York Yankees and an avid follower of the UConn Women's basketball team and the New York Giants. Over the course of his life, he enjoyed playing basketball, bowling, reading, playing poker, and vacationing at the beach. Most of all, he adored his family and the many close friends he made and kept in touch with over the years.
