
Jacob Elijah Yeakley, 17, of North Granby, beloved son of John and Donna, and loving brother of Jonah, Jeremiah, and John, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015.
Born in Hartford on November 12, 1997, son of John P. and Donna (Colby) Yeakley, he was a lifelong resident of North Granby and was a senior at Granby Memorial High School in Granby. Jacob was a talented young man who participated in Granby Little League, played clarinet, sang with the high school chorus, and spoke Mandarin Chinese. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing video games with his brothers, especially League of Legends, watching his favorite TV shows including, King of the Hill, taking long walks, fishing, horseback riding, and listening to his favorite music. Jacob looked forward each year to his family’s annual trip to Nauset Beach in Orleans, MA. While on vacation with his family he enjoyed clamming, reading on the beach, and playing backgammon with his aunt.
Besides his parents, he leaves three brothers, his identical twin, Jonah T. Yeakley of North Granby, Jeremiah S. Yeakley of Granville, MA, and John P. Yeakley of Wallingford; his maternal grandfather, Carlton Colby and his wife Toni of Windsor; a maternal aunt, Dyanne Chace of Marlborough; two paternal aunts, Ruth Hershey of North Haven and Miriam Sanger and her husband Norman “Butch” of Lebanon, PA; two paternal uncles, Thomas Yeakley and his wife Carole of Annville, PA and Robert Yeakley and his wife Esther of Flower Mound, TX; and 11 cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Jacquelyn Colby; his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Mary Ellen Yeakley; and an uncle, Chip Chace.

His family will receive friends on Monday, September 7, 3-7 p.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 11 a.m., at Valley Brook Community Church, 160 Granville Rd., (Rt. 189), North Granby. Burial will follow in Granby Cemetery, Granby.
