Granby Obituary: Karen Dalrymple, 60

Condolences to her family and friends.

Karen Lenentine Dalrymple, 60, of West Suffield, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital, Hartford, after a 4 year battle with cancer.

Karen was born in Bangor, ME, grew up in South Windsor and graduated from South Windsor High School in 1974. She worked at the Aetna for over 30 years before she took early retirement. She went on to earn her degree in Fine Arts from Asnuntuck Community College. She was an accomplished photographer, and had won numerous awards for her work. She later went on to work at TJ MAXX in Granby, and loved the team that she worked with.

She loved photography, crafts, and she had a talent for finding huge bargains for designer items at consignment shops on eBay. Family was important to her, and she loved getting together with all her aunts, uncles, and cousins every summer in Maine.

Karen was predeceased by her mother and father, Lillian Clark Lenentine, and Weldon J. Lenentine. She leaves her husband and best friend of 35 years, George R. Dalrymple II, her loving Labrador, Midnight, and her sister, Cheryl Desmond and husband, Jed and their, daughter Katie Tirrell. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Jane Dalrymple, and brothers-in-law Jim and Ray Dalrymple.

Her family will receive friends Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 1-2 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Her remains will be buried at a later date at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to thank all those who have taken her into their care throughout her illness. Her doctor Jaykumar Thumar, all the wonderful nurses and staff at the Karen Davis Krzynowek Infusion Center in Enfield. And additionally all the hospital Staff and Hospice at St. Francis Hospital.
