Granby Obituary: Linda Duncan, 68

Condolences to her family and friends.

Linda Oberg Duncan, 68, of North Granby, beloved wife of Scott M. Duncan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Stamford on February 18, 1947, daughter of the late Henry and Miriam (Ridberg) Oberg, she was raised in Greenwich and was a graduate of New Milford High School, Class of 1965. After high school, Linda continued her education at Suomi University in Hancock, MI. She worked in Stamford for a short while before Scott captured her heart. Scott’s work brought her and their family throughout the United States and Europe. She lived in Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, the United Kingdom and Pennsylvania before returning to Connecticut and settling in Granby in 2010.

Linda was the consummate hostess and loved to decorate and entertain. She also loved to cook and bake and passed these passions on to her daughters. She was an easy person to meet, genuinely cared for everyone, and was extremely thoughtful and generous. She was known as the milk and cookies mom, always with a positive outlook on life. Linda was always ready for the next adventure or celebration. She loved to be with her two daughters and their friends who affectionately referred to her as “mom.” Linda loved being “Grinnie”, as her grandson called her. Most of all, Linda will be remembered for her infectious smile and the joy that she brought to the countless people that she has touched throughout her life.
